Bug: Blog menu not highlighted when we are blog post detail page
Bug: Blog menu not highlighted when we are on blog post detail page
Sep 3, 2021
There's also a UX question here that we've been around a few times and not really found a satisfactory answer.
the short version is: highlight the "blog" entry in the menu can make it hard to distinguish parent navigation structure vs when you're on the "blog" index page.
question is something like: "when should a menu entry be highlighted?"
For example, see how amazon doesn't highlight "book" in the main menu even though I'm a book page. Amazon does create a sort of "breadcrumb menu" that allows us to navigate back up to the book overview page.
Normally the breadcrumbs would be the answer, but the microsite "site-in-a-site" IA causes complications here.
There's probably a parent VF UX issue that needs investigation. — I'll plan to raise this at the next VF-UX clinic.
When we are on blog post page, "Blog" menu is not highlighted. It does highlight when we access the actual "Blog". Issue on all WordPress microsites.
