A way to improve browsing on an artist's more detailed discography thanks to an additional filter (which would basically be like the "Classification" filter in advanced search) on the artist page.

Something much more complex would be a way to display solo albums (which would concern any album using the / ArtistName display nomenclature). Mainly because it'd be easier to browse through an artist's page more personal albums & releases without resorting to using ctrl+f & searching for a /. However this would probably need to be manually curated, because of these issues:

  1. There can be multiple artists concerned by a "solo" project album. Like Feryquitous feat. Nakuru Aitsuki or TJ.hangneil vs Jackz.
Solution: Each album can have a field for "Solo Release", in which you would select the IDs of any artist considered a "main" contributor. That way, it could show up on the multiple respective artists' pages.

  2. Despite the album titles displaying / ArtistName I don't believe that soundtrack related releases (especially singles) should be considered a "solo release" so to speak - they should be omited due to their category not being "Original Work". (Example: Multitude of single releases related to rhythm games)

  3. That'd mean going back to every album which are considered a Solo Release, and manually link the concerned artists so they can show up as such on the artist page. That wouldn't happen in a day, but as always, the sooner something like this can be implemented, the less retroactive edits will be necessary.

  4. Discogs and MusicBrainz also do this in a pretty arbitrary way, and god knows that arbitrary additions like these are annoying. But I believe complex issues are harder to find than easy and explicit ones and it's something we could do little by little like we have with product credits, and i don't think it's as crucial a feature as the new artist link implementation was, meaning that some discography holes would be fine to live through. It's more like a bonus than a mandatory thing.

  5. This is definitly a QOL update that requires a lot of maintenance & retroactive changes.
