Your series is quite nice. I have a question though, why not using SVG instead of PNG. This will allow you to create link directly inside it. So for instance, you could link your samples to the official Rust documentation and also to the other element in the series (assuming you add more)

I would love to be able to create SVGs with code and syntax highlighting. I don't really know how to do that though. Any hints?
I don't think there is an easy way. The hard way would be to try to automate this by creating your own script based on some syntax highlighter. Otherwise you can do manually. Another way, can be to embed the code as an image but use SVG as a format for the links so you still get some good stuff from SVG.
