Consider the following program.

bar[a]. bar[b].
bar[X], bar[Y] :: foo[X,Y].

foo[X,_] :: var(X).

Bule grounds it to

var(a). var(a). var(b). var(b).

Whereas

var(a). var(b).

would be preferable.
