Here are some notes that we referred to in a recent course that used MIMIC. The final version was shared using the MITx platform and is a little different:

Our reliance on PhysioNet for sharing data can be frustrating, because it is pretty clunky and outdated, but this isn't something that we'll be able to address in the short term.

I have drafted some instructions in R Markdown for requesting access to MIMIC. They are available at: https://github.com/datascibc/datathon-2016/blob/master/01-pre-datathon.Rmd

These could be converted to html with knitr, served from GitHub, and linked to from the pre-workshop email.

@docsteveharris @alistairewj @jusalciccioli please take a look at the instructions and update/improve as necessary!
