Before the flag with Brendan is set, the text box reads "You're not a coward! Are you?!" ["No!"/"Maybe..."]
After the above, the text box reads "Do you really want to give up?" ["No!"/"Yes..."]
For friendly battles, this does a variation on the whiteout procedure:
The player blacks out, text about how the player rushes back to the center shows on screen, and the player shows up at the center's door as if they had just walked in.
Their pokemon are not healed, nor is a save forced nor reload happen.
They lose money like a normal player would, using FRLG methods.
For unfriendly battles, this triggers the usual white out sequence, causing the player to get attacked and the game soft-resets.
If the pokemon on the field has enough affection, they will attempt to take the hit instead.
