Any experience installing Nextspace on ARCH based Linux like Manjaro?

Hi all, new here, my name is breizoneg. This is my first question (didn't find any discission on this subject here nor anywhere else at the moment...)
Title of this post resume my main question, then since I'm reading install scripts, I notice i'm supposed to use ld.gold, I wonder why?
