Menus should be easily distinguished. A colored header and a tile-like look should be sufficient to solve the issue.

Problems to be solved:

choose random color for a new menu (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/43044/algorithm-to-randomly-generate-an-aesthetically-pleasing-color-palette)
store colors for eternity using api provided by Runtime configuration #27
