Icon-Sprite example

Hi,
Could you perhaps provide a small example of the use of a sprite. We've been trying to get this to work for an hour now, but there are many different possible causes of errors. SVG structure for example ...

F.e. i get often (sprite and non-sprite)
"The markup could not be parsed: Extra content at the end of the document
in file: /foo/kirby/src/Toolkit/Dom.php line: 116"

And do i have to clear the Kirby in the production system after i have added new icons?
