Unable to see Alerts of Thanos Ruler as storing it as Metric in Thanos

We are having one interesting observation regarding on alerts raised in thanos ruler storing it as metric.

In on-premise Prometheus server any alert rules configured and raised in prometheus are storing it as metric and we can see those in the Thanos Ruler .
But, where as if we configure the alerts in thanos ruler and alerts raised are not storing it as metrics in thanos db.
Then same prometheus behavior should be available with Thanos ruler also.

we wanted to use this metric to display in dashboard with panels and also for automation for using the alerts to test with status.

could someone help to us to understand this and help us to get this as metric.
