Items dropped by enemies (e.g. "beetle corpse"), which can be used to complete a quest should be marked with a "Quest"-label, so the user can decide wether he collects them for the quest or sell them to get the money. Moreover he gets to know that the item has a "special" use.

This can really only happen when you actually have the quest, since any item may at some point be relevant for a quest. Once such a quest is active, the progress towards achieving the goal could show each time you pick one up.
