According to this very gross picture, it does not appear that it fails but takes a bit of time (and perhaps times out later?). Maybe USB stick you booted from got disconnected for some reason?

After I got this

Timed out waiting for device /dev/root, trying to mount anyway.
mounting /dev/root on /iso...
mount: ... failed ... No such file or directory

Stick wasn't disconnected
