[Bug]: Fan not working with Smartthings #355
Comments
I don't know if smartthings actually supports fans. With Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home everything seems to work. does smartthings show all the controls to control the fan, but nothing happens? |
https://news.samsung.com/us/samsung-smartthings-simplifies-smart-home-experience-with-latest-app-updates/ mentions Mater 1.2 compliance with fan support, but some Verge articles suggests that the app is behind regarding the capabilities from that press release. Either way it would be weird to implement support for reading the fan state but not writing it. :/ Maybe share a screenshot of the app + debug logs. |
Thanks for a quick response @t0bst4r , and the info @kennylevinsen . and the log didn't show anything for the fan control. Hope this helps, and I believe ventilation for controlling CO2 level is crucial nowadays as we have many more passive house ever than before. |
I have the same situation with Smarthings. the strange thing is that the fan was working fine when I used Matter bridge. |
Version
3.0.0-alpha.57
Matter Controller
Samsung Smartthings Hub
Steps to reproduce
install Bestin HA HACS(https://github.com/lunDreame/ha-bestin) to get my device using EW11 wireless serial port server and install [home-assistant-matter-hub] (https://github.com/t0bst4r/home-assistant-matter-hub) to link my HA device to Matter, and connect it to my Smartthings app.
confirmed controlling the fan in HA works fine though, the fan doesn't control anything in my Smartthings but reading the status in real time.
