When getting visicut.model.graphicelements.ImportException: java.lang.NullPointerException upon importing an SVG, a possible workaround is to use the Inkscape extension as kindly suggested at #675 (comment)

It would be wonderful if the software could catch the exception and output the relevant tip when that happens.
