No installation manual

Compared with the installation of Superdesk, installing this is difficult due to the lacking installation manual.
Sure, the steps are written in the readme, so this has been tested somewhere.
But which distribution and version?
Which versions of the different software involved?

This is the complete opposite of the installation guide of Superdesk, where everything is automatically installed (for a specific distro version). Not that I like this either, I would like to be able to install this in my distribution and version of choice if possible, but this is still better than being unable to install anything at all.

If so, what were your experiences?
