Just as a preface...

I'm trying to get SubGraph installed so I can cover it for Linux.com.

That being said, I've installed the alpha (via VirtualBox) twice now (using different download ISOs -- on the off-chance there was something wrong with the first) and both times it goes fine until it attempts to start the GNOME display manager. At that point, the screen just blinks and eventually freezes.

Is this a known issue (I searched and couldn't find anything)? If it is, is there something I can do to get it to work? I have to cover this by Monday, so if I can't get the issue solved by then, I'll have to drop it and move on to another distribution.

Thank you so much.

Jack

Unfortunately SGOS doesn't boot in Virtual Box (or VMWare Workstation/Fusion). kvm is fine, and we recommend you install it. The username will be 'user' when you install. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions when you're trying it out.

@dma This is definitely an issue my install of SGOS has been hanging at GDM (Login) for two months. I have done fresh installs on hardware SGOS has previously worked fine on and GDM keep locking up and even recovery is not working.

@bkerensa I actually tested and couldn't reproduce what you describe. What Jack was reporting was VirtualBox - known issue across Debian (still?).
