My name is David Ganghyeon Kim and I am currently studying in University of Alaska Anchorage. My coding experience mainly comes from school projects and personal projects. In the past some projects I worked on were making a social media app, creating a compiler using flex and bison, and created a stock market predictor using machine learning. For these projects I had to get familiar with using APIs, python for machine learning, C code for compiler building, and github.
SU2 interested me because of the open-source and educational nature of the platform. Making powerful tools for current and future engineers can be a great tool for them to achieve new innovations. I would like to work on project 2 because it seems like a challenge to me. Making efficient code and elegantly processing data should be the goal of any programmer, the project goals require that to be completed.
Currently my work schedule is open and I’m taking the time to learn and prepare for the summer. When I start working I can put in 5-8 hours a day 6 days a week. My hours working will be spent researching, talking to my mentor, implementing code, and bug testing.
