What happens to the pixel values histogram of your image when using punctatools?

Hi there,

To the creators - thank you so much for making punctatools, I love it! I was struggling for a long time to find a reliable, automated puncta analysis software, but I have found one in punctatools.

I was just wondering though, what does punctatools do to the pixel values histogram of the puncta channel when it's detecting the puncta? I see it makes the puncta more visible when you crop into a region during the puncta anaylsis setup, but how does it know what to do? Is the change the same for any image?
