I was honored and humbled to have been the maintainer of sparklyr, working with Javier and others on sparklyr and sparklyr-related efforts during my time at RStudio. I take pride in my work, and I hope data-science practitioners will find sparklyr useful in making their data pipelines scalable and extensible.
I also occasionally work on other R-related projects (e.g., sparklyr.flint at the moment, and had some brief experience with sparkxgb before that).
