My name is Avimanyu Bandyopadhyay or simply Avi. I am a decentralized researcher from Kolkata, India. My journey in research began with a modest Master's project on autism and dolphin therapy back in 2014, sparking a deep passion for learning and discovery.

I started my academic research by exploring how biofilms work, which led me to study multicellularity through unique cell growth models using CellModeller. Funding my research has been a challenge, and I've relied on my savings from past work as a system administrator. To supplement this, I've engaged in part-time scientific writing, contributing articles to platforms like "It's FOSS" and "Linux Handbook."

Gaming is one of my favorite hobbies, and I've been recognized as a Ubisoft Star Player. Music also holds a special place in my life, and I play the piano and drums. My interest in gaming has led me to write gaming utilities and applications, alongside simplifying scientific simulation work on GitHub.

I've built my computing lab over time, documenting my journey in a book on GPU Computing. In 2020, I completed an advanced research program and submitted my final thesis. Since then, I've been focusing on cellular and protein dynamics, particularly in understanding the role of autism-related cells/proteins and investigating their mutation and deletion.

I currently work as a systems scientist at NuNet, where I contribute to building a platform that brings computational solutions to biological questions. My experience as a system administrator has been instrumental in this role.

I'm passionate about contributing to the open-source community and exploring the potentials of decentralization. I've gained experience in search engine prompting skills, enabling me to craft more effective queries in the era of generative AI.

Though the pandemic has extended my academic journey, I'm grateful for the extra time to grow and contribute. This sponsorship would be crucial in funding my research and maintaining my laboratory. It would enable me to conduct extensive simulations on molecular interactions and understand multicellularity better.
