Using QueryBuilder with DB facade #938

I try to do this

$query = DB::connection('second_db')->table(data)
return QueryBuilder::for($query)->whereDate('date', $today)->paginate(10)->withQueryString();

but I got error said

Subject class Illuminate\Database\Query\Builder is invalid.
