In order to improve software discovery, I'd suggest to create a new Typesetting and Desktop Publishing component in the Office section of the Software Center.

The following programs and packages would fit under this category:

  • texlive
  • latexila
  • texstudio
  • texworks
  • lyx
  • scribus
