Other Keyboard Togglable Shortcuts?

I particularly love how typing of keywords like ### or --- would auto convert the block as the aforementioned types (e.g. titles and horizontal rules). Do you think we can (as well as should) extend the support to bold, italic, or even hyperlinks as well? Thanks.
