How to use GeoMagic plugin with SOFA binaries on Linux

Problem

Description
I download SOFA binaries for Linux from this link and I want to test a simple scene in examples, named "Geomagic-DeformableCubes.scn", but when I open this scene, I have this error:
[ERROR] [GeomagicDriver(GeomagicDevice)] GeomagicDriver initialization failed because the Geomagic plugin was built without OpenHaptics (HD/hd.h). If you build the plugin yourself, install OpenHaptics and specify OpenHaptics_DIR at CMake configure stage.
I installed GeoMagic Touch driver and OpenHaptics. How can I resolve this problem without using CMake?

The plugin source should be extracted and compiled separately from the binary 👍 Existing discussions like #3809 detail this process well.
