@hugtalbot I think it is worth looking at the work done in Caribou last year to integrate FEniCS into SOFA. If I remember correctly, in the current state of the branch, the c++ code generated from FEniCS for different mechanical equations can be integrated into Caribou, but requires a manual compilation of the code. I think it would not be that much work to do this automatically by, for example, generating and compiling the code of the python equation at the first load of the simulation. This would be a very powerful tool to integrate many new constitutive laws into SOFA. /cc @Ziemnono |

We are thinking about implementing additional mechanical constitutive laws in SOFA (maybe through the Caribou plugin). Is there any need of mechanical constitutive laws missing in SOFA?
