Singer's Getting Started example no longer works #8

Hi,

I've just opened this issue on getting started repo.

I diagnosed the problem as follows:

Fixer.io free plan (which is suggested in tutorial) only accepts HTTP requests
Plus, the parameter base is not supported in free plan as well

In order to make the tap useful in that tutorial, we might have to customize the request according to user's subscription plan.

It seems a simple fix. I'm considering working on that and submitting a PR soon. Is someone else already working on that?
