Is pb-for-desktop a dead project? #172
Comments
Thank you for your input & your continued usage of the app. The project is not dead, but has rather been in a state of hibernation for some time, due to reasons of developer availability & time constraints. The points you raised are certainly important - thus, the current plan is to release a new version (maintenance update) shortly, including updates of all relevant dependencies and frameworks. Afterwards, issues and bugs which have emerged in the meantime are to be addressed in additional releases. Let's keep in touch. Cheers, |
Hi @sidneys Thanks so much for the quick response, and as a long-term user I'm glad to see the project is still active :-) Happy to help with any testing, yes let's keep in touch. Cheers, itsjustarumour |
waiting for that update, just fyi, thanks in advance, happy to help with testing too. |
Likewise checking in on this - it seems like the project needs new contributors? :) |
As the pb-for-desktop project has had no news, updates or developer responses to bug/issue reports for literally years, can we assume that it is now a dead project?
As it is an Electron-based app, a lack of updates means that security fixes for the underlying Chromium/Node.js framework are not being implemented, placing users at risk from security flaws.
I'm a long-term user, but would now argue that we should now no longer be using this application.
Would a dev care to comment on the current status of the project?
