Strategy for Shopware 5 to Shopware 6 migration

We have this nice migration tool to move all the data to shopware 6, and we have the documentation how to set it up propery. But what i am missing is the practical strategy description how to use it.
In detail the questions like:

• how often should i migrate until switch to shopware 6
• should i only migrate once at begin of the project or at the end (just before the switch)
• what is the proper strategy to migrate the configuration and at the same time make changes, cause sw6 config may and will change in comparation to sw5
• how to deal with media migration properly
• how to avoid the erase of sw6 configuration changes due to changes of configuration in sw5 just few hours before switch, but not disabling the migration to get the latest orders and customers.
  And other similar questions. There should be some kind of practical best practice how to use it properly with the given functionality to not run into some troubles unintentionally.
