Garbled output in kitty terminal.

I know in the README it talks about Garbled output, but I've seen people with man pages colored and without the escape sequences showing up. Is this just a limitation of the kitty terminal emulator?

But it seems mostly fine if I do something like this in terminal:

man ls | bat -l man -p

I know it may seem like I answered my own question, but I like to be compliant with a sort of 'default' out of the gate before I start adding configurations to it.
