Could not connect to MQTT broker!

Hello, I'm upgrading from an old version of AqualinkD. It all went well and the web page interface is working. But I'm having issues running in Homebridge. I have not been able to find the solution. Could you please point me in the right direction?

Mosquitto is running fine

Since neither AqualinkD or HomeKit can connect to the MQTT broker, I would start their.

Use MQTT command line tools (on the machine running AqualinkD or HomeKit) to connect to the broker, using the same information you are using in the aqualinkd / HomeKit config files.
Look in the MQTT Broker logs.

You probably didn't stop the AqualinkD service that starts automatically before you ran the AqialinkD command line.
Below will stop the service, replace stop with start to start it again.
sudo systemctl stop aqualinkd

You should probably also run serial_logger to see if there are any other protocols that your panel supports., so you can modify the below lined in aqualinkd.conf. Information is on the wiki

Thanks. All seems to be working fine.

I'm not sure I did the serial log right. I'm not sure of extra_device_id. Below is a portion of the of serial log. Is there anything I should comment in or out in aqualinkd.conf?

The Unknown config is the only error that is haunting me. My panel is a combo with a PDA. But the PDA has not worked in quite awhile. The attenna is still hooked up, but the Actual PDA does not connect. Maybe I can just ignore this error?

The suggested values listed are the ones you should put in /etc/aqualinkd.conf

extended_device_id = 0x40
rssa_device_id = 0x48
device_id = 0x0a
panel_type = RS-8 Combo

Make sure to REPLACE the existing lines in aqualinkd.conf with the above lines, not add the above lines.

The below error has nothing to do with PDA, it's a bad line in the config.

Is because you have a line in aqualinkd.conf that it doesn't understand. the line is swg = Salt Water Generator, and that's an invalid configuration option.

I'm not sure why it shows the swg = Salt Water Generator error because it is commented out in etc/aqualinkd.conf and I do not see it anywhere else?
