ldap errors

i have set up ldap and when i try to log in with ldap users i get the error "time="2023-10-17T11:20:53-04:00" level=warning msg="LDAP Result Code 201 "Filter Compile Error": ldap: finished compiling filter with extra at end: %!(EXTRA string=admin)"". i can successfully run ldapwhoami and ldapsearch. i have tried different filters. i can succesfully run ldapsearch with sever filters, and i get that error no matter what the filter is. i even changed my password to remove special characters.
