I still remember the gut-wrenching moment when I realized that the hard drive containing the RAW files from my wedding in Korea was no longer booting up. To this day, I'm not sure what happened. But the memory of that ohnosecond - that brief moment when my mind registered the disaster - still churns in my stomach.
Although I was able to salvage a few pictures that had been posted on social media, it was a major disappointment to lose so many precious memories. I had taken extra care to capture as many high-quality pictures and videos as possible with my hobby-grade DSLR camera, and it was frustrating to know that I didn't make copies of them.
If there's one lesson I've learned from this experience, it's the importance of backing up your data. No matter how much care you take with your files, you never know when disaster might strike.
