I am thinking that the name of the repo is rather restrictive. We should probably add functionality that does not have to do with observation data. E.g. code to read the output of the models, to retrieve the "best forecast" of our model in a certain period of time, the ECMWF data etc. @tomsail used seareport_io here and I think its a good candidate.

If you have other ideas, please do post them.
