Hey @ramiroluz! What do you think about using the template of 2017 Python Brasil? I could bootstrap the landing page and start customizing it.

@rcgivisiez

Hi @alfakini I talked about it with @ramiroluz yesterday and he sent me the repo of 2017's landing page. We need some texts and images.

@alfakini scipyla's web was the one @ramiroluz sent me, but I don't know also what did they use. @ramiroluz I think is not jekyll because it has no yml file.

Anyone started working on this issue? @alfakini and @rcgivisiez one designer is offering to help. I believe you started a web team. So you can chose the best option for you. Just remember that we will need to translate the site into English and Spanish. We will use transifex for the translation.

Hello everybody

SciPyLA 2017 was a simple Angular.js v1 static web site . ng-include use quite a few times , and angular-markdown-it . Some resources we used are in the assets repository .

@rcgivisiez
Copy link

@ramiroluz Very nice, can you bring the designer to this discussion? @alfakini Let's make a team and work together.

@alfakini, @rcgivisiez, @tadiane, can you please create a landing page skell? After that we can just add content. The organizers of the past edition have experience using a static site with angular.js and some plugins. We can have support from the PythonBrasil organizers if we chose to use the PythonBrasil conference template. You can chose what is better for you to work together. I believe the first steps are chose one tool and create the assets for this year conference and create the skell. Assets are logos variations with the words scipyla Curitiba 2018 for example.

@rcgivisiez

@ramiroluz @alfakini @tadiane Can we make a team on telegram or anything like this? We need to communicate better.

Hello,
My English is not very good, but from what I understand from the conversation the need is for someone to do web development.
I do not have programming skills. I am a designer and can help with visual communication.
Is there any demand for my area?

@tadiane Hello,

what is your mother tongue? Most people can understand English, Portuguese and Spanish quite well so you can write in your more fluent language.

I am a designer and can help with visual communication.

We need visual communication skills. If those could be apply to open standards formats/open source software, e.g. Inkscape and GIMP, it will be plus.

Is there any demand for my area?

Yes. We need minor changes on the logo to brand it for Curitiba and a visual identity for the edition.

To make it easy for @tadiane it would be nice to make a list of images that need to be branded for Curitiba.

@rcgivisiez
Copy link

I will start a list, @ramiroluz.

@rcgivisiez
Copy link

So, here I have a list I made by my own judgement of images that will probably need to be modified.
The activities one is a template which has to be modified for each activity.
There is also the "things to know before travelling to Cuba" that should be made for Curitiba as well.
I don't know about the sponsor's one but I judge that should be reviewed.
If any of you guys find another image, please add to the list.
Here's the list:

I do (should) not want to be involved with the graphics but, if you are ok with following the same development strategy for 2018 (i.e. Angular.js + json + markdown), I can volunteer to help you with that .

If this was the case then this is what I suggest you to do .

That would be my initial tasks list if the SciPyLA 2017 minimalistic template is reused . Other tasks should follow later on , but I guess this would be a good start .

@leliel12 @ramiroluz @xmnlab @rgaiacs looking into the future , I'd like to refactor web site code a bit so that all changes would be limited to docs/ , assets/img , assets/js/vars , /assets/css and the least amount of locations beyond these . This will make it easy to start the environment for new conferences web site .

Open CFP via PaperCall

I didn't like PaperCall as I mentioned early because you can't submit a proposal with a co-speaker.

Hi @rcgivisiez @ramiroluz

Do you have the event's brand archives? Preferably open files, in .ai or .eps files.
If you want to keep the background images, they are also necessary, but without the texts.
Do I need to take specific measures? If yes, please inform them.

Ps: Sorry for the delay in answering ... I do not have the Telegram, but I will create it, my number is (+55) 41 999605640. My language is Portuguese.

@LuanComputacao

Pessoas, estava dando uma atenção para o tamanho das imagens do site e vi que estavam grandes. Passei elas por um compressor, mas ainda acho que precisamos de umas versões responsivas.
