In my tests I'm using the Canada (Central) Region that the link seems to recommend. Although, I'm still not clear if that necessarily means we're FIPPA compliant. update Looks to me like Canvas hosts their data on that same server so maybe? 🤔 |
New discoveries with AWS We need a driver on Tableau Server if we want it to work with AWS: https://www.tableau.com/support/drivers
Seems like when it's on Tableau Server, the user who accesses the workbook is asked to authenticate with Athena (see screenshot below)

I think if it's setup properly, the owner of the data authenticates and shares the authentication with the server. So as long as the user permissions on Tableau are setup to view data - they bypass the athena authentication. If it's the same as how you would connect to an sql database. |
