This architecture of VAWT cannot be modeled in OWENS. It required blunt body aero and 3D FEA. OWENS is built on lifting body aero and 1D beam FEA. A different code, similar to OWENS in aeroelastic nature, but including panel methods and 3D FEA could be developed to model these types of concepts with appropriate time frames and funding.

However, for savoneous modeling that incorporates high aspect ratio blades that are both lifting and self starting by having a portion of the airfoil hollow or high drag at low RPM, then this can be modeled already just by adjusting the 360 degree airfoil polars. For large low aspect ratio blunt bodies, it is recommended to use CFD and FEA and pass one to the other and simply check that the deformed structure doesn't bend enough to appreciably influence the aerodynamics.
