Motivation and Skope

A* is a set of models
covers different areas: skeletons, app frameworks, gateways, workflows, etc.

Notes:

skeletons: generator of artificial workloads
frameworks: translates app semantics to workloads
atoms: 'artificial' execution of workloads
system workloads: derivation of workloads, adds resource consumption details
