Thanks! You really just made my day. |
@rubberduck203 Thank you! |
I'm the author, thanks so much for preserving this. I lost interest after my rewrite attempts got complicated. I may try getting this to working on a modern stack. |
@kjs452 no sir, thank you! You’ve touched a lot of lives with this software. I am very happy to know you’re alive & well. |
You. You beautiful alife hackers are the reason for the following: It has been fun and hard work! Arghhh, damn you! Thanks for reminding me this existed and was once fun to play and people liked it. So as promised, I rewrote the app for a new stack. Sorry, it is no longer windows. It runs on MacOS now. Eventually, the source code will be available on git hub and the App store product will have a price. Right now the pre-release is free, search for "Evolve4" in the MacOS App Store. Hunt around in the application folder for the files in 'ev5stuff' this will give you seed files to specify. I'll blog how to use the pre-release version. For now you can enjoy the website documentation. This is a pre-release, it lacks a few features. Probably by the end of January I'll have the official 5.0 release with all the features implemented. The website is pretty complete however and mentions all planned features. You guys deserve to know the news before anybody else. Thanks rubberduck203, ilyar, cliftut, LioHong. |
Not an issue, but this is the only way I know how to leave a note. I created this account to say: Thank you for making an effort to preserve this program. I toyed with it quite a bit years ago, and it still remains one of the best a-life/evolution simulators around. Thought you might want to know someone noticed. :)
