No sound at receiver

I recently found out about this project and I set it up according to: this. I have an old HP thin client acting as the "receiver" running Debian 10 on i686 and pulseaudio. And as the client or "transmitter" I have a desktop running Arch. After setting everything up, the sink shows up on the desktop and everything seems to be fine on the receiver as well (checked using pacmd: list-sink-inputs, move-sink input...). But there is no audio.

How can I go about testing out the connectivity or sending maybe /dev/urandom or something?

NOTE: Everything is wired using gigabit ethernet and both devices have static IP's.

Nevermind, found out ufw was causing the issue by blocking the traffic.

Good to know the issue is resolved :) And thanks for reporting anyway.

For information:

• Your roc-recv log does not contain ... creating session ... messages, neither it reports that any packets were dropped. This usually means that it did not receive any UDP packet at all.

• You can run roc-send and roc-recv with -vvv instead of -vv. This may hurt performance, but will give verbose logs on sent and received packets, like:

  This way you can check whether the packets are sent correctly and whether they are being received.
