Parser only supports ASCII characters

The parser supports Unicode. Therefore what you state above is incorrect. I assume that you wanted to say that certain symbols supported by Unicode are not allowed to be used for Identifiers. This is fully intended and also rational. In the upcoming version umlauts will be added as legal characters for Identifiers. Support for other characters does not have any priority right now.
