Having downloaded the file I need to top and tail it. At present I have to change the default file association for mp3 files to my preferred editor MP3DirectCut in order to call it from the Downloads window with a double click, but this is a hassle, having to change the default back afer each session.
I note on MP3Tag there is an ability to define your own tools and have defined MP3DirectCut to load and call the highlighted file, and associated this with the double click for that particular application only.
If Radio Downloader had this facility either hardwired to MP3DirectCut or user definable, then the complete production process could be handled from the downloads window.
MP3DirectCut is particularly useful in this respect because you can set it to keep all tag information when it re-saves the modified file to a directory of your choice.
MP3DirectCut also has normalisation and batch processing for joining serial files together and editing them and so linking them from the Downloads window would give you the complete Swizz Army Knife.

Right click and 'open with'? I use it all the time to trim mp3 downloads. Of course you have to do it on the file rather than from within Radio Downloader. Or if you are an iTunes user, yu can set the start and stop times for individual files from the file GetInfo/Options via Ctrl-I
