Regarding the new wire management on the arms:

  • Would it not be enough for the notches to only be on one side? Since the arm is symmetrical you can flip it in the direction you want the notches to be on
  • Chamfered edges: I am not sure if it is a good idea to have two 90 degree turns over unchamfered edges, I am afraid that the edges would potentially cut into the wire
  • The second set of notches, close to the base plate - is this even necessary? From what I understand the motor wires goes in between the two plates and come out just beneath the stack - would it then not be easier to just have one notch at the end of the arm since you then follow the arm beneath the plates anyways

This came to me in a dream :)) did it in a morning a few hours before I went to work. I will print all the options and test which one is better, I will follow uo with some pictures.

After a lot of experimentation, I tried one sided, double sided, none, and more... I found double sided to work the best I even moved it up a little, it's not centered but it's just the right distance from the motor and the base so that if a prop bends it wont hit the slots (I tested this by bending props and trying to cut the TPU mount or zip ties). I also tried to cut the motor cable on carbon and the only way I succeeded if i pressed super hard on it and moved it around.

I see - I think I just misunderstood how the cable management should work. i was under the impression, that the wire is put into the groove. I always use electrical tape to mount my wires and don't use LED's. Makes sense to me now.

LED's are more popular in racing so I definitely wanted to support a solid way to mount things on the arms. It looks a bit out of the ordinary because I also would like to support 3mm bit milling. It's as low profile as it gets and I hope I got the spacing right :))
