Retaining default sort order for backlinks

Thank you for keeping this plugin going; it does so much to make queries and backlinks actually useful.

For as long as I've used this plugin (years), retaining default sort order of backlinks has not been possible; even when I've configured settings to save my default sort order, it reverts to the system sort order of "filename" whenever I open a doc, despite the dropdown settings showing my selected default sort order as "created new to old". I then have to switch to a different setting in the dropdown and back again to my desired "created new to old", and only then does it sort accordingly. (I go through this routine many times every single day.)

I don't see any response to this issue at the nothingislost github (and the peeps at Obsidian have been unresponsive for years to thousands of requests for this basic functionality), so I just wanted to ask here if it's even possible to address.
