[🚫Discontinued Project🚫] Alternative lists here ! 👈 #4626
Comments
Make sure you know what the list is doing, before using bogachenko's anti-adblock killer. It creates exceptions to allow google ad servers through. More info here - bogachenko#423 (comment) Edited for clarification |
ya i just added updated fork of this project . u can also try other alternative mentioned if u want other list instead of this project fork |
Actually, the author bogachenko, has admitted himself that his blocklist is not privacy oriented, and is willing to sacrifice privacy in order to achieve his goal. Someone from the ublock team showed examples of the blocklist allowing google ad server connections through (and that was the reason for ublock adding that blocklist to their list of "badlists"), and bogachenko's response was to insult and harass them, then claim it's the user's fault for using his blocklist. Yes, you are promoting a blocklist that circumvents other blocklists, by linking to it, and people are likely to try it without fully knowing the consequences. |
if i wanted to promote it i would hav only mentioned the fork coz people from this repo wants to know if this repo is dead if yes then whats the alternative thts it i m making them aware. by nearly 2k stars bogachenko fork is most popular and many use it . i dont want to get into ubo people vs bogachenko drama let people decide what they want to choose |
Yeah people have the right to use what they want, even if All-mighty Gorhill and his stans disapprove. I know he's done good but I can also recognize when a person who has done good isn't entirely a good person, and his behavior has shown that. Also just FYI I recommend blocking chuds like this guy, stops them from flooding your issues with their garbage. I suggest you and anyone else who believe in user freedom do that. |
Alright. You could at least warn people that they're unblocking Google (and who knows what other servers) by following your recommendation. That way people don't just subscribe, assuming their other lists aren't being compromised. Edit: Nvm, I'll just do it by editing my posts. :)
You're obviously some kind of bogachenko fanboi, the way you take his side on anything over on his github. But the point of an adblocker, is to block ads. The point of reek's anti-adblock-killer, is to prevent sites from detecting your adblocker and shutting down. The point of bogachenko's fork, is to do the same, right? Google is like, the biggest tracking/ad company in the world. And yet, bogachenko's blocklist is circumventing other blocklists, allowing those connections. You can throw insults all you want, but the ublock team was completely in the right for blocking it, particularly because bogachenko refuses to warn people up front that it's compromising other lists (and instead he mentions it buried in the wiki). I'm commenting here for people's benefit - not to take a side. But you've made it clear you don't have other people's interests in mind. My recommendation is to use the other lists @techgamers2 mentioned, or at least be aware that using bogachenko's list will be allowing Google ads, and possibly other servers, through, due to the way it uses generic exceptions to override your other blocklists. I don't know why anyone would be offended by me informing others of this.. but it's the internet I guess. |
@MechanosG I promised not to answer you, because every word spoken to the troll is his food. Oh... well, so be it, I’ll feed the green-skinned one... damn, oh Madonna, my kindness. It’s funny to watch how you’re trying with all your might to breed a caliphate (isn’t this the only topic where you "protect" people?), the diligence with which you work - a fighting hamster, it’s amazing. @iam-py-test had never even dreamed of such quality, but just recently, he was my favorite gorhill-lover. The guy @techgamers2 directly tells you that he just provided links for users and he is not interested in such disassembly, but this opinion has made your throat dry and your arterial pressure has risen? This kind of behavior personally makes me touch, it’s funny, because you are doing everything exactly the same as the uBO people did on Reddit (do you have some kind of manual or do they grow people like you somewhere? How do you work and are you paid, or are you like a troll - working only for food? Please tell me how much it costs to outbid you?), although if you had administrator rights to this repository, you would, just like them, start banning people and rubbing comments about every mention of my repository. What impudence to have an opinion different from yours, it is necessary to ban! I have no way of knowing what ads exactly I have unblocked, other than the empty spaces on the notional internet page appearing from my sheet (which I honestly wrote about on the wiki page). I don't understand, it is likely that you are concerned about tracking from Google, although you often mention some ad that I have unblocked, who is this ad, is this ad it is here with you in the same room right now ? Can I say that you hate Google and use DuckDuckGo or similar (I don't mean only search engines, usually such people are reclusive, and you even have to explain it, how you use analogs that are twice as bad as the original, the example of DuckDuckGo to illustrate)? Which are hosted on Amazon, and especially for you, I will say that Amazon, like Google, collects user information - in the same volumes. Have you put the tinfoil hat on yet? I think it's time to take it off. Do you care about the general rules of exclusion? Why is this the only one? Why, when it comes to some problematic site that can't be bypassed (by uBO-authors people, too) without unblocking Google's horrible tracking, do you turn a blind eye? If we (and some dudes from uBO, I emphasize for the gorhill lover) add advertising scripts from Google to the exception for specific sites that cannot be bypassed, is this not considered a loss of privacy in your dictionary, is it so ? I don't want to continue dialog with you, you are ridiculous as any people of uBO (GitHub policy doesn't allow me to use free speech to describe you and not get banned, which is what you are trying to do) I insist that you, like @iam-py-test, continue to make people laugh. Unfortunately, people like @techgamers2 will have to deal with people like you quite often. Who would have thought that the official uBO community was not fully recovered from panic attacks, but as @DraconicNEO said, it’s better to immediately send you to mute so as not to waste nerves. PS: Lol, you even took the time and put reactions in my topic for each of my posts after a day of our debates. Go on, little hamster, it's strange that @iam-py-test is silent, you two would cooperate and put two whole "thumbs down" on me... |
Most people probably actually don't need an anti-anti-adblock filter list if they're already using uBlock Origin or AdGuard (extension/app) |
