Hi Team,

Can we show the exact current page number in the reader screen…? .
We want to add slider in the reader screen which takes the user to particular exact page.

If by exact page number you mean the number of "screen pages", it's not possible with reflowable EPUBs, because pages are dynamically changing when updating font size, styles or screen orientation.

However, we have the concept of "position" which can give you an incremented count similar to page numbers. You can get the current position by overriding NavigatorDelegate.navigator(_:locationDidChange:) and use location.locations.position. See the test app for examples.

For fixed-layout EPUB, PDF and CBZ, location.locations.position will be equivalent to screen page numbers.

I know this question is answered, but is it really not possible? It does seem not possible without loading the entire content into memory at once, but surely it is possible if the epub is short enough to do so? At that point it would just be essentially dividing the content width by the viewport size, no?

I am getting major pushback from my CEO on the experience granted by using positions instead of page numbers, and need a more solid answer to provide him, if possible.

It could be possible if you have an EPUB that contains a single HTML resource, but I have never seen one in the wild. So no, not possible with the Readium toolkit.
