Benefit to RChain Community

  • Create a server that can be used as a documentation depot for facilitators of a meetups to ensure consistency of content from meetup to meetup

  • Protect the brand by maintaining the quality of presentations and keeping visibility on items and collateral used by facilitators
-Not all presentations and content are created equal, we must be sure that the facilitator is speaking on their best understanding of RChain and to do so we must be aware of all of the content available to them and their audience.

  • Develop a community of global facilitators to discuss and brainstorm the best ways to promote RChain and penetrate local markets and build interest with blockchain interested individuals
-Possible addition of Regional Channels for more localized discussion of Facilitators

  • Future Benefits: Receive and Process requests to design/develop properly branded RChain collateral, marketing materials, and presentations

Meetup Facilitators can join the server here(the link shouldn't expire but if it does please DM me):
https://discord.gg/mn4JwMW

Estimated Budget of Task: $[3000]
Estimated Timeline Required to Complete the Task: [ONGOING]
How will we measure completion? [Continue to develop the server, add documentation, RCHAIN links, expand categories/channels, provide guidance to new facilitators, build a library of collateral from presentations used by facilitators on GDRIVE, promote global marketing events]

See CONTRIBUTING.md for details on budget and reward process.

Hey AyAyRon-P, you doing a good job promoting local meetups, but this issue seem's kind of similar with #779.

I would like to understand the difference

Hi @nonnykul

What I've done is continued on with #779 and thought a bit bigger in terms of reach and accessibility to all facilitators. I'm building on what @pmoorman started and took it a step further by creating a space and eventually a format/structure to help guide all meetups in the most effective way possible. Think of it as a market for everything RChain related. As a facilitator I could imagine how much time it would save you to be able to use all of these resources from one central place rather than searching and trying to track them down.

I hope this brings a bit more clarity to this issue.

We can use google drive for storing the document.

@AyAyRon-P can you provide a breakdown as to your budget of $2000?

Also, I see you voted yourself 100%. In the server, I observed there are three active participants @AyAyRon-P, @zsluedem and @nonnykul who actively gathered materials and resources from various meetups, what about rewards for the other participants?

@AbnerZheng I've created a Google Drive for this golovach-ivan, is uploading files to the drive now for future meetup use.

@David405 This is not a project that has a mathematical breakdown. This was countless conversations determining viability, it's potential to benefit facilitators, and it's value to RChain by ensuring quality of documentation and consistency. This is an effort driven reward streamline the facilitation process of RChain meetups.

I participate, give feedback, provide guidance, and help drive numerous projects and never expect a reward unless I am directly involved in managing or producing work. If they feel they deserve a reward percentage they more than welcome to input that on the budget.

@AyAyRon-P Nice work but i dont think it justifies the budget.

How big is the "community of global facilitators" so far?

According to our Task Approval process, we can't have tasks with unclear budgets and timeframes. On an exceptional basis, we can use ONGOING tasks as short-hand for opening a new task each month. But there should be a measure of completion for each month. Take a look at #208 for the sort of justification I expect to see for ONGOING issues.

According to the measure of completion as stated, this is done. Facilitators have a place. I suggest you promote some of that "feedback, provide guidance, and help drive numerous projects" text to the measure of completion, and give rough numbers. The discord experience you bring to this work is also relevant.

@AyAyRon-P please add a link from https://github.com/rchain/bounties/wiki/local-meetup-program:-summary to the discord server and if that wiki page isn't consistent with the advice and general knowledge that goes on there, please update it.

Hi @dckc

The community of global facilitators so far is at 20 and growing. I see what you're saying as far as an unclear budget and timeframe, and I should correct that because the initial setup, gathering, and posting the information was only part of this issue. I have and will continue to actively contribute, gather presentations, provide resources, branding elements, and organize meetup collateral as it becomes available. I have also had the opportunity to steer members to the server to show them they have a community of support and all of the resources they need to conduct a successful meetup.

The local meetup wiki link has been updated 👍

I can't tell when we're done with stuff like "Continue to develop the server". Please quantify the September results and confirm that you're asking for another $3k. I see 4 votes to that effect, but none from you, @AyAyRon-P .

p.s. I logged on and looked around myself. discord says there are 60 users. I found more activity in August than September, but it looks like no reward was issued for 201808. Without checking with @PatrickM727 , I'm not comfortable supporting the whole $3k. I voted $2k.
