big UPS problem when fire occurs #419

I got a big UPS hit when fires occur, meaning:

  1. forest fires from start of game Space Exploration CMEs
  2. fire / exploding biters dying, which are created by a few enemy mods I'm using
  • I think I tested just with SE+K2, and don't understand how others don't get the same problem. True, problem is not apparent without fires / big forests that entertain the problem when the fire goes offscreen and still drops UPS

WaterTurret mod also creates the same UPS problem

  • rarely I got a temporary drop in UPS, apparently from Rampant mod enemies which has a time usage above 2.0, and of course while flying over enemies which are maxed (600%) in my game

It might be related to the laser artillery turret's ridiculous range, that causes the performance of all turrets in the game to nosedive. I'm not sure there's anything I can do without nerfing the laser artillery, which I will probably do anyway for K 2.0.

It happens before I have laser turrets

The UPS drain happens regardless of whether or not you have laser artillery turrets placed. The fact that they exist in the game at all is enough to cause the issue.
