Hello πββοΈ,
This is a discussion of possible solutions to the feature of Dragging on Local Images for Mapknitter Lite which can be found in #998.
We are aiming for a system where you can download a 'saved' version of the map. But dragging an image in, that image won't be readable by anyone else (since there is no server-side file storage to keep the image, it's just displayed locally to the person who dragged it, nobody else). So locally dragging images could break the shareability of maps.
A Proposed Solution
However, one solution we propose is to prompt people to include images in the Internet Archive Collection.
