Did some tests on various continents.
-On Cyssor only Itan had damage ticks. I've seen Gunuku work last week too, but this time it didn't.
-On Ishundar only Baal had damage ticks.
-On Ceryshen no base had damage ticks.

Seems to be the case for other continents too where most bases don't have a working pain field.

Went to the conts listed and every pain field worked that I tried. I did notice that standing in the spawn room doorways caused it to damage 2x faster, two damages per tick instead of one.

Towers have some areas where you don't take damage. It is like a checkerboard where you take damage on white squares, but not on black. Not exactly that pattern, but that's the general idea.

For the towers, the issue is mainly due to left-hand / right-hand rotation math around the spawn room pain field entity type and the surrounding amenities.

Cavern bases with spawn rooms, Module and Redoubt, do not inflict damage. The audio is heard and on-screen message are displayed though.
