Hello, Contour maintainers and community:

We are the team at DaoCloud, and we would like to express our commitment to supporting the Contour project and its community. As Contour has become an essential part of our company’s infrastructure, we are excited to contribute actively and collaboratively. Here is what we propose:

Contributions We Can Offer

  • PR Reviews: We can assist with reviewing pull requests to help maintain code quality and accelerate the merge process.
  • Bug Fixes: Our team is prepared to take on bug fixes actively, addressing issues as they arise and improving the stability of Contour.
  • Feature Enhancements: We’re also interested in contributing new features that align with Contour’s roadmap and community needs.

Request for Permissions and Community Structure Adjustments

To support these efforts efficiently, we kindly request that the maintainers consider providing our team with specific permissions that would allow us to perform these activities more effectively. Additionally, we believe that a collaborative approach to community organization could enhance the overall efficiency and growth of the Contour community.

Community Collaboration and Co-Building

We warmly invite all community members to join us in this effort to make Contour stronger and more sustainable. Together, we can build a more robust ecosystem for everyone. We strongly believe that collaboration across the community will help Contour reach its full potential.

Our Past Contributions

To provide context for our commitment, here is a summary of our recent contributions to Contour:

We look forward to the possibility of deeper involvement and welcome any feedback from the maintainers or community members on how we can best proceed. Thank you for considering our proposal.

Best regards,
The DaoCloud Team

Hey @izturn thanks for this!

I think it would be great to get some at least one more maintainer on board to help with the Contour community

We do have some governance docs on becoming a maintainer: https://github.com/projectcontour/community/blob/main/GOVERNANCE.md#becoming-a-maintainer

I think you all have provided some great contributions in terms of new code etc. but personally I think it would be great to get more involvement as part of the "Reviewer" role responsibilities (governance docs here: https://github.com/projectcontour/community/blob/main/GOVERNANCE.md#reviewer) from the DaoCloud contributors before adding a new maintainer. Once we have some consistent contribution there, I think we could possibly move forward with more github org permissions and maintainer status etc., following the governance rules listed above

I believe @projectcontour/contour-reviewers only has you as a member so please let us know if there are more folks interested in this role. Being added to this github team would mean automatically being requested as a reviewer on PRs. Additionally it would be great to get some help triaging new Issues reported to the project!

@sunjayBhatia Hi Sunjay,

Thank you very much for the offer. I am interested in applying for the reviewer role. I am confident in my ability to provide valuable feedback and assistance in the community by responding to issues and answering questions about gateway usage. Additionally, I can help the team by reviewing documents and analyzing simple code logic.

Thank you for considering my application.
